<p> Nepal Don Bosco Society came
to existence in 2053 B.S. (1996 AD)  with
the objective of providing various types of academic, technical and vocational
education to the economically and socially
backward youths and unemployed citizens and helpless people through opening of educational
institutions and by maintaining spiritual
solidarity among citizens of various classes dwelling in the country and to
prepare able, competent, dutiful and self-sustained citizens in future by
creating proper opportunity of employment by providing skill-oriented education
to them through the said educational institutions.</p>

<p>Focussed on this mission, despite
the short span of time, institutions associated with this Society have rendered
valuable service to the country by educating nearly 3500 students of the
academic section and training 2800 in the vocational trades through its five
educational and two technical institutions situated in the Eastern and Central
regions of the country. </p>

<p>A great opportunity for the NDBS
came with the Earthquake of 2015 which took away over ten thousand lives and
property worth millions. The society sprung into action to respond to this
tragedy.  The Nepal Don Bosco Society (NDBS) extended
its full support to alleviate the misery of the helpless, traumatized,
impoverished  and the struggling
situation of the of the people on post-earthquake days. In addition to the
relief materials of various kind distributed to the 35000 families of 14
severely affected districts of Nepal, the society has built up 22 temporary
learning centres (TLCs) and constructed 2 drinking water projects for the
people of two districts and re-constructed 10 government schools of five
districts. With support from various donors, the society provided also other
support systems like the classroom furniture, computers, solar system etc, and led
from the front to provide school uniform and stationery to the students of 40
schools of 7 districts.</p>

<p>The society with its technical
schools in the Eastern and the central zones is catering to the rehabilitation
dimension of the post earthquake recovery measures of the government.</p>

<p> The society hopes to extend
its full support to the country by shaping a strong and skilled youth
generation who will build an economically sound and stable Nepal.</p>
