Rector's Message

Don Bosco (1815-1888) as an educator and a motivator of youth was a genius and a large-hearted person of the 19th century. Although born in a poor family, he made best use of all the opportunities he got to study and train himself in various skills. It was his large-heartedness towards the welfare of youth that stirred him to pioneer varied skill training to the unskilled, unemployed, migrant and the marginalized youth of his life time. This motive and objective is carried on by his followers all over the globe and thus speeding up the development and ushering in a transformation of the respective societies.

This objective of Salesian Congregation (The Society founded by Don Bosco) was materialized in the Kathmandu valley in 2001 with the setting up of a Technical Institute at Thecho, Lalitpur district. The young people who get skilled here, irrespective of duration of the courses, return to their settings well equipped with a specific skill for career and a well formed character for their future.

This institution has great scope and acts as a catalyst in contributing to the economic and social growth of the country. Young adults will indeed find this Institute a launching pad for their career and future.
