Assistant Welder

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:To produce competent welders who will be able to perform standard welding in Arc and Gas to the steel fabrication workshops and industries in country or overseas employment.

STRUCTURE:This is a skill based training of 80% practical skill and 20% of required technical knowledge. The total initial training duration is of 480 hrs. a. Full Time (FT) 3 months (40 hrs/ week) b. Part-time Evening (PTE) 7 months c. Part-time Day Release (PTDR) 10 months

ENTRY CRITERIA:Individuals who meet the following criteria will be allowed to enter into this curricular program: Minimum of eight class pass or equivalent Nepali citizen Age 16 – 35 year Should pass entrance examination.


TARGET GROUP:Individual, General public, employed, unemployed youths, having at least eight class passed and aims to develop career as a welder in the field of mechanical work or steel structure fabricator/ manufacturer.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:At the end of the course, trainees will be able to ;


  • Calculate and estimate welding product.

  • Apply occupational safety rule.

  • Select and Use of the tools and equipments.

  • Select appropriate electrodes for the welding according to the working materials and the thickness.

  • Perform in different welding position.

  • Weld on different materials in different joints.

  • Perform pipe welding.

  • Control welding defects.

  • Handle and care gas welding tools and equipments.

  • Perform gas welding in all position in different materials.

  • Perform hard soldering (Brazing) on different ferrous and nonferrous metals



  • Beautician

    Introduction

    This curriculum is designed to produce employable lower level human resource equipped with necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to be a beautician. In this curriculum, the trainees will practice skills of hair dressing, beauty culture and beauty therapy in the beauty parlours. Once the trainees acquired the competencies they will have ample opportunity for employment and self-employment through which they will contribute in the national streamline of poverty reduction in the country.

    Aim

    The main aim of this curricular program is to produce employable and entrepreneurial beauticians who could provide beauty services at the beauty parlor in the country.

    Objectives.


    After completion of training the trainees will be able:


  • To identify and enumerate different tools and devices applicable in the related occupation

  • To manage beauty parlor securing hygiene and safety measures

  • To provide hair dressing services as per the clients’ hair textures and their facial features

  • To provide different types of beauty culture / therapy services

  • To suggest to clients for the further facial treatment services as required

  • Course Description

    This modular curricular programme is designed based on the job required to be performed by a beautician. This course intends to provide knowledge and skills on beauty services viz; parlor management and sensitization, hair dressing, beauty culture / therapy. It focuses on hair shampooing, hair cutting, hair coloring, and hair styling hair, and massaging and treating scalp. It also provides knowledge and skills on applying makeup, dressing wigs, performing hair removal, and providing nail and skin care services.The duration of particular modules will be as mentioned in the course structure. There will be demonstration by instructors/trainers and the opportunity to practice skills/tasks necessary for this level of technicians. Trainees will practice & learn skills using typical tools, equipment, machines, and materials necessary for the program.


    Duration

    The total duration of the course extends over 460 hours.

    Target Group

    The target group for this training program will be all interested individuals with educational prerequisite of minimum class ten pass.

    Target location

    The target group for this training program will be all over Nepal.

    Individuals who meet the following criteria will be allowed to enter this curricular program:


  • Minimum of ten class pass or equivalent

  • Minimum of 16 years of age

  • Should pass entrance examination

  • Preference will be given to the individuals of rural, poor, female, Dalit, Janjati, Disadvantaged Groups (DAGs), conflict affected people and the disables.

  • Grading System

    The trainees will be graded as follows based on the marks in percentage secured by them in tests/ evaluations.


  • Distinction: Passed with 90% or above

  • First Division: passed with 75% or above

  • Second Division: passed with 65% or above

    Introduction

    The competency based and market oriented curriculum for Building Electrician is designed to produce employable workforce equipped with knowledge, skills and attitudes related to the occupation. In this curriculum, the trainees will practice skills of electrical works in the training workshop and building construction industries. Once the trainees acquired the competencies they will have ample opportunity for employment and self-employment through which they will contribute in the national streamline of poverty reduction in the country. The skills and knowledge included in this curriculum improve their knowledge and skills and make them competent building electrician needed for the occupation. The major feature of the curriculum is to incorporate the drop-out youths who have only primary level schooling experience.



    Aim

    The main aim of this program is to produce employable building electricians who could provide house wiring services in the public and residential buildings of the construction industries in the country and abroad.


    Objectives

    After completion of training the trainees will be able to:


  • State the concept of electricity

  • Perform basic calculation

  • Apply electrical instruments for measuring resistance, voltage, current and power

  • Identify and interpret electrical symbols and codes

  • Install and connect accessories, fittings, protective devices and distribution board

    Intoduction

    This curriculum for “Tailor master” has been developed with a purpose of preparing technical workforce in the field of tailoring who will be able to get employment in the country. The technical skills incorporated in this curriculum come from the experts who have already worked in field of tailoring. Its contents are organized in the form of modules. So it is a tailor made curriculum to be implemented in a modular form. It is a competency based curriculum too. It is also designed to produce lower level technical workforce in the field of tailoring equipped with skills, knowledge and attitudes related to tailoring technology in order to meet the demand of such workforce in the country so as to contribute in the national streamline of poverty reduction in Nepal.
